MaryAnn joins the Douglas Elliman Team of professionals in Syosset, New York after having spent more than two decades in the Retail Banking industry. A former employee of Astoria Federal Savings and Loan, MaryAnn brings with her a proven track record of being one of the Top Sales and Service Producers amongst her peers.
A graduate of Long Island University, C.W. Post College. MaryAnn earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1985 and began her career at Astoria as a Trainer/Program Developer in their Staff Development Department. She later went on to become an officer of the company, earning the title of Assistant Vice President and becoming one of their top performing Branch Managers, operating offices throughout Queens, Westchester and Long Island. After a very gratifying 23 years with Astoria, she left to raise her family.
MaryAnn always had an interest in Real Estate, so her desire to re-enter the workforce as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson was of no surprise to her family and friends. Many have expressed “This is what you were meant to do.” MaryAnn has always been of the belief that “Extraordinary Customer Service Skills makes a difference”, and states that “Making Clients feel like they are the only client I am working with and providing them with the highest level of professionalism and on-on-one attention is my goal.” With this philosophy, it did not take long for history to repeat itself. In her second year, as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, she again became a leader amongst her peers, having over 8 million dollars in home sales.
Beyond obtaining her real estate license, she actively participates in continuing education classes and has earned the designations of Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), which gives her the right to work exclusively with Buyer Clients. She has also earned the designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), where she is trained to deal with the special needs of Seniors and “empty-nesters”, facing the task of down-sizing, Reverse Mortgages and Elder Law, as it relates to Real Estate. She has also earned the designation of RSSP, which is a Registered Short Sale Professional. In 2018, she continued her education and became a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker.
On a personal note, MaryAnn is married to Francesco (Frank) Clara and has resided in Woodbury/Syosset for 29 years with their 3 children. Her oldest, a son, is a graduate of Chaminade High School and a graduate of John Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins School of Business. Her second child, another son, attends Manhattanville College and lastly, her daughter attends Kellenberg Memorial Latin School. MaryAnn is an active member of the Syosset Council of PTA’s and her license plate proudly displays “GRE8MOM” as she admits that being a Mom to her 3 children is her greatest accomplishment.
